kat is sitting on her black leather couch, sipping black tea. the lock on the door turns, squeaks, and Life walks in. He slips off his shoes and sits next to kat on the couch. kat gives no recognition that he has arrived.

Life: I'm sorry.

Outside, the birds chirp and the wind rustles the spring leaves.

kat: I've missed you.

Life: I'm here now.

there is a long pause. kat rests her head on his shoulder. Life takes her tea and sips it.
